It is a week before Christmas and the grounds at Lane End Conference Centre were lightly covered under the first sheet of snow today, and it is on that note that I am writing to you and wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
2009 is drawing to an end and it's that time of year to reflect back on the past 12 months. This time last year we were faced with an unpredictable economic climate and the fact that we knew it would be a tough year with many challenges ahead. I think most would agree that it was not far from the truth but the team at Lane End Conference Centre has pulled together and we are still here!
As Lane End Conference Centre is concerned however, there have been, as usual, several memorable changes during the past year. The new Cabin bar and lounge area had not even been thought of this time last year and we also completed the Hall Conference refurbishment as well. Now the 2nd phase of that project - the Hall Conference Suite 2 refurbishment - is well under way. I think it is a great testament to our forward thinking ethos that we have achieved so much despite the economic climate. We are hoping that these investments pay off for us all and encourage the return of our clients to our new improved Centre in the next year.
We also had another memorable event this year; we celebrated our 40th Birthday with a circus themed event in September. The event was well attended by many clients, friends, staff as well as the owner of Lane End Conference Centre, Professor William Barry.
This year's Christmas party season has also been one of the most successful in years, and as we are preparing for the last couple of Christmas parties we wish you all the best for a well-earned Christmas break and we hope to see you (or hear from you) at some point in the New Year.
Best Wishes
