New Executive Head Chef at Lane End
Cooking up a storm – new Executive Head Chef Steve Tremblay spices up the menu at Lane End Conference Centre. Lane End Conference Centre has just appointed an exciting new Executive Head Chef, Steve Tremblay. Steve says, “I am passionate about cooking and really looking forward to showing what I can do at Lane End.”
Cooking is in Steve’s blood as his parents were in the trade, and, aged seven, Steve was already keen to follow in his chef dad’s footsteps. “It just seemed the natural thing to do. I never wanted to do anything else. “
Over the years Steve has learned to cook exciting dishes from all around the world, many of them during his time working for the famous Hyatt hotel chain where he moved around a number of exotic locations. “It was an incredible education as a chef. I can truthfully say I can now create any kind of menu and I certainly know my spices!”
Steve already has five red Michelin stars and four Rosettes tucked under his belt from working alongside Michael Wignall at the Latymer Restaurant at Pennyhill Park and Spa in Bagshot, Surrey, voted Best Hotel Spa in the European Health and Spa awards 2009, so he comes with impeccable credentials. In addition, he has been Head Chef for private events held by Simon Cowell, and has seen a totally different side to the outspoken judge capable of reducing contestants to tears in the X-Factor. In contrast, Simon has nothing but praise for Steve, and has introduced him to many of his showbiz friends and colleagues so that Steve’s culinary A-list now includes many celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Take That and Katy Perry.
However, although Steve will continue to cook for Simon, family values have led him to choose Lane End as his next post so he can spend more time at home. He already liked what he had heard of Lane End: “I have long been aware of Lane End’s long standing reputation of producing good quality catering to its strong customer base, something I not only want to uphold but which I would like to improve on.” He also valued the atmosphere and ethos, “It‘s a really friendly place where people are treated with real consideration.”
Lane End Residential Conference Centre in Buckinghamshire has long been a popular venue because of its easy access, and peaceful environment set within 26 acres of Buckinghamshire countryside combined with state of the art conference facilities. Well equipped, with 104 en-suite bedrooms, 34 conference meeting rooms, and plenty of leisure and sports facilities, good wholesome food has always been a key part of the package, but with Steve’s experience and flair there is a lot of excitement about what will shortly be going on in the kitchen. Mike Gough, Operations Director, is full of enthusiasm: “Here at Lane End we always look for ways to improve the customer experience. We believe Steve’s strong culinary experience and education will contribute to our culture of continual improvement.”
Steve will manage the team of 6 chefs working across 3 kitchens, 3 dining rooms, and up to 4 further informal dining areas, and will soon be launching new dining concepts and creating exciting menus.
Steve comments, “I’ll be introducing new ideas, taking it up a notch - even a simple finger buffet will have everything homemade; for example, lovely fresh breads that taste delicious. And I’ll be mixing up the flavours a bit – maybe some Indonesian, maybe some Japanese, maybe some Mexican – something a little bit different. ”
Go to Lane End for your next conference or event, and you’ll be in for a treat – world class cooking from a man who knows his onions – and his spices!
Steve's dedication is in-keeping with Lane End's commitment to producing delicous food on-site. We have long believed catering - and the quality of it - can make a real difference to the overall conference experience. Learn more here.
