Channel 4's Black Mirror 2 Featured Lane End Conference Centre

Black Mirror filmed at Lane End Conference CentreLane End Conference Centre was featured in the third film of Channel 4’s Black Mirror 2 trilogy – The Waldo Moment.

Black Mirror 2 is a series of satirical dramas where each episode has a different cast, a different setting and even a different reality. According to its Wikipedia entry the shows are all about the way we live now – and the way we might be living in 10 minutes’ time if we’re clumsy.

The series is produced by Zeppotron for Endemol and Lane End Conference Centre was selected in October last year as a film location for the third episode.

The venue’s Wycombe Lodge and Pavilion buildings were used exclusively for three days of filming during the October half term week.

There are beautiful shots of the Garden Gazebo with views of the golf course in part three of the film in question. The Lodge entrance, lounge, bedroom corridor, bedroom 82 and views of the Quadrangle are also featured.

Zeppotron Location Manager Tim Maw said: "Filming in hotels is notoriously difficult since they are busy places and cannot suffer much disruption to their business.

The key is to find a location that looks real and gives the crew the opportunity to work in a controllable environment. We were therefore pleased to find it at Lane End Conference Centre – the venue was sufficiently diverse to allow us to work in one of their buildings without conflict with their other clients.

As the Location Manager on this project it was a great pleasure to work with such efficient and friendly staff and I hope to return in the future with other film crews."
