Our Commitment to food made on-site

Cherry and Ice Cream DessertOne of the very first things a client or delegate will discuss when looking back on a meeting, conference or event they have just attended will be the catering. The quality of catering can often be the difference between memorable and forgettable.

Food and customer service are so important when it comes to leaving a good impression on clients and delegates, but give them something not up to standard and it could have a serious impact on returning business and of course the venue’s reputation. Give them something special? It’s likely you’ll leave them wanting more, and the power of word of mouth should never be underestimated. 

One way of ensuring quality is to prepare food on-site. This is something we wholly believe in at Lane End and it would be safe to say we are incredibly proud of our catering and the fact that it’s ALL made here. Our Head Chef Mike Day is a firm believer in providing wholesome food in generous portions. Our home-cooked meals offer a variety rarely seen at other meeting and conference venues.

Not only is the food made from scratch but we also use local produce when and where we can. One of the benefits of being based in beautiful Buckinghamshire is that we have no shortage of fantastic suppliers who can provide quality ingredients and it is important to support those businesses. We even produce our own jam with locally sourced ingredients! As well as that we only use Red Tractor meats which guarantees responsible sourcing.

SeabassThe added bonus of our food being produced on-site is that we can cater for everyone – no matter what their dietary requirements are. Over the past few years we have noticed a significant rise in gluten-free requests and that has been something we have been able to handle with ease. The recent research into the dangers of processed and cured meat is also something we have addressed by offering up an option to avoid these food types.

On-site catering has essentially made us more flexible and prepared for any challenge we may face.
This commitment to wholesome food made on-site is something we are proud of and it would be safe to say it has won us business. Never underestimate the power food can have on your clients!
