New Late Bookings Policy At Lane End Conference Facilities

Strong growth in sales over the last 12 months has prompted Lane End Conference Centre to stop taking late bookings so it can concentrate on core business.

Rapidly increasing demand for conference facilities means Lane End will now not accept last-minute bedroom reservations unless they are part of a group booking through a corporate account.

Buckinghamshire-based Lane End is one of only a handful of specialist conference venues that will not be found on last minute sites such as Laterooms.

In support of its business model, it chooses not to advertise and sell its 104 en-suite bedrooms on a late availability basis.

All of Lane End’s delegates and guests are there for the same reason - business. The conference centre does not appear on discount B&B booking sites. You will not find any leisure guests or contractors there.

Conference centre Sales and Marketing Manager Heni Fourie said: “We are committed to delivering an environment conducive to learning and development, free from external distractions.

“At least 60 per cent of our overall portfolio of business comes from repeat customers. We understand the needs and expectations of our customers and we take care not to jeopardise our core business.

“I believe this is just one of the reasons why our loyal customers decide to return to our business meeting venues time and again,” he added.

Lane End is a dedicated, purpose-built conference centre in a peaceful countryside location that is just an hour’s drive from the centre of London.

Its meeting facilities - 34 conference rooms - are divided between five separate buildings on the 26-acre site.

This enables Lane End to offer customers the opportunity to use a building or conference suite exclusively - allowing them to work freely without distractions and to discuss private company-sensitive information without being overheard by anyone else.

The modular layout of Lane End Conference Centre - with bedrooms spread across three of the five distinct buildings - gives it the flexibility to allocate corporate transient group bookings in a building away from events at its exclusive training venues.

Lane End also ensures that its corporate team building events are located a suitable distance from the main conference facilities to ensure that delegates are not disturbed.

Mr Fourie said: “Peter Scrivener - one of our customers trained by the Inspirational Development Group (IDG) - said in his feedback that Lane End Conference Centre was a much better venue than the facilities they had used previously.

“He specifically expressed his delight about being in an environment free from wandering bed and breakfast guests.

“This feedback made it very easy for us to take the decision not to accept any random, last-minute bedroom reservations, unless they are part of a group booking through a corporate account,” added Mr Fourie.

Lane End Conference Centre’s proximity to London and Heathrow means that it is readily accessible via excellent motorway links.

This makes its conference facilities popular not just with British companies but also with international clients searching for conference venues in the UK.

Lane End Conference Centre has recently undergone a major refurbishment programme which has included structural enhancements to some of its buildings to let in more natural light; a new boardroom; new bistro-style dining facilities and the very latest AV equipment for presentations.

Recently, Lane End also launched Lane-O-Lympics themed corporate team building events. It has also boosted its culinary offer with new Japanese-style Bento Box meals to make working lunches at the centre even more productive.
