Extensive Refurbishment Of Lane End Conference Centre
Lane End Conference Centre is investing in a major refurbishment of its conference venues, dining facilities and residential accommodation.
Twelve months of continuous growth at Lane End Conference Centre have seen it continuing to outperform the market in a difficult trading environment.
This has prompted the Buckinghamshire conference venue to step up its policy of continuous investment with significant extra refurbishments.
Improvements to Lane End’s extensive meeting facilities will include:
higher speed (100 megabyte) internet access thanks to a direct fibre optic link
a new private boardroom for fine dining and senior executive meetings
new bistro-style restaurant for Wycombe Hall
structural work to enhance Wycombe Court with higher ceilings and new larger windows for better views of the grounds and more natural daylight
new floor-to-ceiling glass doors at Wycombe Lodge and a new deck for alfresco dining
a new reception area plus rolling refurbishment of all bedrooms
extending and enhancing The Cabin games room and bar.
All the work has been planned carefully to avoid any disruption to existing business at the conference centre.
Most of the refurbishment of the public areas and conference rooms will be carried out next month and during the first two weeks of January before completion of the final phase next summer.
Work on the new direct fibre optic internet link is due to be completed in December, guaranteeing reliable, fast online access for any web-based training or video conferences.
The new fine dining and boardroom facilities are being created in a previously under-utilised space in the Wycombe Hall building.
Lane End Sales and Marketing Manager Heni Fourie said: “The room will be comfortable for up to 18 guests around a boardroom, complete with stylish furnishings and beautiful lighting to enhance the fine dining experience.
“New Head Chef Mike Day will create a special fine dining menu to complement this great new addition to the Lane End offering.
“The room will also benefit from a 60-inch plasma screen for presentations during dinner or in boardroom meetings.”
Wycombe Hall’s dining room will be upgraded into a fresh, modern bistro-style restaurant. The complete structural makeover will bring an improved ceiling and new modern lighting. Refurbishments will also include wooden floors and contemporary furniture and soft furnishings.
“New floor-to-ceiling French doors will open on to a new deck, overlooking the grounds and bringing the outside inside for perfect alfresco dining in the summer,” said Mr Fourie.
“The refurbishment will carry on throughout the coffee lounge and conservatory to create a perfect ambience. This will be completed in mid-January.”
Wycombe Court will also undergo structural improvements to its main conference room with new higher ceilings and new large windows overlooking the grounds. Work will be completed by January.
As a business meeting venue, Wycombe Court has capacity for up to 90 guests in its main conference room.
Wycombe Lodge dining room will also receive a structural refurbishment for summer 2012 with floor-to-ceiling glass doors opening on to a new deck.
“This private area with its comfortable lounge and bar, overlooking the golf course, will be designed with private parties and corporate dinners in mind,” said Mr Fourie.
Lane End’s new reception will be the centrepiece of the conference and management training centre, offering a spacious, contemporary and comfortable waiting area with high ceilings and an impressive new front desk.
In addition, the sales and marketing offices will be adjacent for convenience and will include a private space for the team to meet with clients.
There will also be new covered walkways to the nearest entrances of the adjacent business meeting venues.
Lane End Conference Centre has been privately owned for more than 40 years. The venue’s majority shareholder, Professor William Barry, has always seen the conference centre as a local jewel, providing employment opportunities to the local community and serving the corporate market for national and international training events and conferences.
Lane End Conference Centre is set in 26 acres of beautiful Chilterns countryside but only 30 miles from the centre of London, making it an easily accessible training venue for companies in the City.
Unlike other training venues, Lane End offers its facilities across five self-contained buildings, enabling companies to book a dedicated building exclusively, thus guaranteeing their privacy.
This is one of a number of features that differentiate the innovative Lane End Conference Centre from the rest of the Conference Venue market in the UK.
