With the first real snowfall of the year in Lane End, Buckinghamshire and surrounds it can be hard to come up with ways to do activities and safely so. Whether braving the weather, or staying inside where it is safe and cosy, here's our guide to doing 4 things to make your feet and fingers glowing and fill your heart with excitement and contentment.


hill snowSledding is the perfect snow day activity.  Head to the local park or forest (in line with current travel restrictions), find a huge hill and sled your way to the bottom!  Not only will you have hours of fun, you will also benefit from a full-body workout and increase calorie burn when doing so.

Walking or Hiking

backyardA snow day is the ideal time to put some wellies, coats, beanies and gloves on and go for a revitalizing walk or hike. With hundreds of special parks and forests in the area, there is plenty of room to find a new path to explore. Any time out in the fresh outdoors will provide an opportunity to try appreciate quiet time and indulge in inner reflection - not to mention taking in the breathtaking views the Chilterns have to offer.

Flourless and Egg-Free Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe

Prep Time: 15 mins

Total Time: 25 Mins

Serves: 12


258 grams Creamy Peanut Butter

101 grams granulated sugar

73 grams brown sugar

1 Banana

1 tbs Baking Soda

½ tsp Vanilla Extract

½ tsp Cinnamon 


  • Preheat an oven to 176°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients until well blended. Scoop generous tablespoon portions onto the prepared baking sheet. With a fork, make crosswise indentations in the cookies or shape into your prefferred shape.

  • Bake in the oven for about 8 minutes, until they begin to turn golden. Remove from the oven and let sit on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes. Gently transfer the cookies onto a wire rack and let cool completely.

  • Store at room temperature in a covered container for softer cookies or in the refrigerator for firmer cookies.
