Jessops - Kick-Off Conference for Staff & Suppliers
British camera retailer Jessops required a centrally located conference venue for its first Christmas Conference under new owner, Peter Jones.
The purpose of the event was to bring together 50 members of the Jessops team, including employees from its Marlow head office and 28 stores nationwide, to brief them on future business plans.
It was also an opportunity for customer-facing staff to learn about the latest camera technology from world-leading suppliers in order to pass on their expertise to consumers.
The Venue Brief
Jessops had a number of venue-specific requirements.
These included: exclusive use of a conference centre to ensure privacy whilst discussing sensitive business information, a spacious, modern conference suite to accommodate group presentations and smaller break-out rooms to accommodate meetings with specialist photographic suppliers.
The conference venue also needed to deliver high quality conference catering for 50 delegates during the day and a special sit-down dinner in the evening.
With delegates attending from 28-retail outlets across the country and Jessops headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, the location needed to be within easy reach of major roads, rail networks and airports.
As the one-day event went on into the evening the venue also needed to offer excellent overnight accommodation.
Lane End Conference Centre provided the ideal combination of geographical location and on-site facilities for Jessops’ festive function.
Only 15-minutes’ drive from Marlow, Buckinghamshire and close to both the M25 and M4, the venue is easily accessible by road.
For employees travelling from far out destinations, such as Scotland and Northern Ireland, Heathrow airport is half an hour’s taxi ride.
In terms of facilities, the self-contained Wycombe Hall and Wycombe Court buildings - which contain three modern conference suites and individual break-out rooms offered Jessops a dedicated private work space. Whilst the large lounge areas were well suited to the group’s informal working lunch.
For group presentations and gala dinner, Jessops chose Lane End Conference Centre’s spacious Pavilion building with dedicated kitchen.
On hand to provide the group with fresh, tasty food throughout the day were Lane End’s team of professional caterers.
Finally, as a purpose-built residential conference centre Lane End has over 100 en-suite bedrooms providing ample overnight accommodation if delegates required.
